PETROGRAPHIC NAME: limestone breccia
COLOUR: basically light grey, craps and connecting substance of unevenly intensive brown and reddish tones. Venation and joints between craps partly light (calcite), and partly more brownish-red stressing the image of breccia
TEXTURE: non-homogeneous
MINERAL COMPOSITION: strong domination of calcite, a few minerals, clay and Fe, Al oxides and hydroxides, flint stone in traces
STRUCTURE: explicitly classic, breccia-like
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION: over 95 % CaCO3 with additions of clay substance, and Fe, Al and Si compounds
WORKING CHARACTERISTICS: it has favourable qualities for cutting (sawing, perforating) and final treatment (grinding, smoothing, sanding, brushing, pointing, etc.).
Smoothing can produce strong brilliance with visible relief lines on junctures
UTILITY: a decorative and functional type of natural stone for internal and external horizontal and vertical surfaces
