This project started off as a dry stacked waterfall that was leaking so much water that it had to be replaced. The new waterfall was built using the same stone as the old one, only in a new configuration. We opted for 2 waterfalls and 2 small watercourses to add to the size of the waterfall, but also to reduce the water loss from splash and evaporation. The new waterfall is wet-laid in cement, with the mortar kept back from the face of the stones to keep the dry-laid look to match all of the existing masonry work on the property. This makes sure that the entire waterfall runs through the intended water-course, without any of it creeping behind the stones.
