The
unmistakable peculiarities of Orobic marble are its unique colours
and natural design, stemming from a tropical environment similar to
the present-day Bahamas, with clear, lukewarm water and coral reefs.
From a petrographic point of view, it is a veined or laminated
limestone, distinguished by its own peculiar colouring derived
predominantly from the presence of oxides and ferrous hydroxides,
dolomite and volcanic ash. The many varieties of the predominant
colours can be seen inside the serviceable width.

From
a technical standpoint, Orobic marble not afraid any comparison: its
compressive and flexural strength is very high, its durability (l.e.
Resistance to stamping) is good; its extremely low water absorption
coefficient ensures negligible a porosity, consequently it does not
suffer damage from frost or ice. Overall, therefore, its
characteristics show that this type of material is not only perfectly
suited to traditional usage in flooring, interior trim, etc., but
also for external applications with rustic surface.
