The combination of this simple design with its soft mould compliments so well the open texture of the Cotswold Stone - giving the surround a “rustic” feel which would adapt well to any room in the house and to housing an open fire or log burning stove.
Stone:
The surround shown has been produced in Cotswold Limestone which has also been given an "aged effect" but it can also be ordered in a choice of the following local English Limestones – with or without the aged effect.
"Aging" the stone gently opens the stone surface and randomly softens the edges - a subtle effect which emulates how stone reacts to years of wear without altering the natural colour of the stone.

The hearth can be supplied in the same limestone as the surround or in York Sandstone - a harder stone than limestone and better suited to those situations where solid fuels are to be regularly used and when higher temperatures will be created.
