It is an eruptive rock formed from the solidification of magma about 250 million years ago. It is ranked among the magmatic or igneous rocks called because it is formed by the solidification of magma, ie a fluid mass of volcanic origin which is at very high temperatures inside the earth's crust. Cooling started very slowly in the depths, thus initiating the solidification of magma and the formation of crystals of the minerals that compose it.
Chemical composition: It consists of 70% silicon oxide, 12% aluminum oxide, 6% potassium oxide and lower percentages of iron oxide, sodium, calcium and magnesium.
Mineralogical Composition: It is composed of 40% quartz and feldspar several submerged in a glassy paste and training process contribute to the unique characteristics of porphyry. This process is very particular and specific structure originates precisely why it is called "porphyritic" making our stone world number one in flooring and cladding material.
