Lovell Stone Group specialises in Hurdcott Green sandstone. Our Hurdcott quarry, situated near Barford Saint Martin in Wiltshire, is one of the last remaining greenstone quarries in the country. We supply a variety of building and masonry stone, and our modern cutting and sawing facilities ensure a professional finish every time.
The high silica content of Hurdcott Green sandstone makes it particularly abrasive, and we have specially tipped diamond saws enabling us to cut the stone. Our piano key-style, four-way guillotine is capable of automatically cutting stone with high precision, providing a consistent surface finish.
We also have full computer-aided design (CAD) facilities available, with computerised template cutting and computerised numerical control (CNC) profile sawing technology. Depending upon the end product, the extracted stone is then taken to one of our production facilities to be sawn and worked.
