the quarries of CARRARA
Carrara marble is a very fine white marble that is extracted from the quarries of the Apuan Alps. The excavation of the marble dates back to the 1st century BC and has changed the local territory over the years. Almost all the marble extracted is transformed into blocks of different sizes and then worked with the aim not only of decorating the most prestigious environments, but is also used in other sectors such as for sculpture, we recall among the works that of David Michelangelo.
