Maintenance and Other Informations
1. Anti-acid and anti-alkali. The main chemical composition of pebbles is silica, which is basically neutral, and its geological environment in nature is also basically neutral. Therefore, the storage environment should also be neutral. If it is too acidic or too alkaline, the ions in the acid and alkali will chemically react with the pigment ions in the pebbles, causing the pebbles to deteriorate, corrode, or change color. Under normal circumstances, the water is neutral, and the acidic and alkaline water will have an impact on the pebbles. When exhibiting, use distilled water, or boiled cooled water. If possible, before using the water, you can use pH test paper to test the pH of the water. If the pH value is greater than 7, it is alkaline, and if the pH value is less than 7, it is acidic. If it is alkaline, add a little edible white vinegar; if it is acidic, add a little edible alkali, and adjust the pH value to 7.
2. Heat protection and exposure protection. Heating or exposure to strong light will also change the properties of pigment ions as the temperature increases, making the pebbles deteriorate. When storing, keep away from heat sources and avoid exposure to sunlight.
3. Anti-dry and anti-crack. Pebbles keep a certain humidity in the natural environment. Some pebbles contain water molecules. When they are dry for a long time, they will lose free water molecules and the surface may crack. Especially polished stones and opals will crack after a long time of drying. . During storage, relative humidity can be maintained. It is also necessary to prevent mechanical collisions, which will crack and damage under the action of external force, so be careful when picking and placing.
